Dr. Beverly Mason

Beverly has an extensive history of working with clients across a variety of mental health settings. She specializes in working with issues around mood, anxiety, relationships, developmental transitions, adoption, and the LGBTQ population. Beverly believes in a strength-based, person-centered approach and is trained in a number of treatment modalities including but not limited to:

  • Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)

  • Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT)

  • Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT)

In addition to owning Mason Therapy Services, Beverly is the Director of Counseling and Prevention Services at the College of New Jersey (TCNJ). Prior to TCNJ Beverly developed and directed the CAPS Next Step Program at Rutgers University and served for seven years as the CAPS Group Program Coordinator. Beverly earned her Doctorate in Social Work in 2023 and her Master of Social Work in 2008, both from the Rutgers University School of Social Work. Beverly is also a part-time lecturer at the Rutgers University School of Social Work and is currently pursuing a Doctorate in Social Work. Beverly has published research on treating serious mental illnesses on college campuses.

In her free time, Beverly enjoys exploring the outdoors, traveling, and spending time with friends and family.
